LOGON Details

All current and suspended CSIC members have an account on my site. To access my site you must log on each time. Any CSIC member who is not on my mailing list can still activate their account and access my site.

If you have logged on before and know your password go to 1 below

If you have logged on before but do not know your password go to 2 below

If you have never logged on before go to 3 below

1  Logon to the site

If you have activated your account in the past and know your password you can easily logon to my site using your Username (your name as on the CSIC membership list OR your CSIC Member Number) and your Password (the one you created earlier). Enter this information in the boxes provided on the upper right when you go to my site. www.CSICMembersForum.ca. Then click on “Logon” or press the enter key.

2  replace a forgotten password

If you have forgotten or lost the password you created earlier you can go in to create a new one. You can only do this if you have created a password in the past. If you have not you should activate your account first (see 3). To create a new password click on Forgot your password? in the box on the upper right. It will take you to a page where you will be asked for your CSIC member number. Then click on “E-mail new login info”. The system will then send a single use URL to take you to a place where you can create a new password. Please keep your password somewhere you will be able to find it in the future.

The message will go to the email address we have on record for you. If you have changes your email address or do not have access to it you will have to follow procedure 3 below so you can enter a new email address.

After this you will be able to enter the site anytime you want (as long as you are a CSIC member) using your Username (your name as on the CSIC membership list OR your CSIC Member Number) and your Password (the one you created above).

3  How to activate your account on my site:

click on Request a website account  In the box on the upper right

This will take you to a form to complete. Please provide the requested information. This is to make sure the person activating an account actually is a CSIC member.  When you are finished entering the information you MUST click on “Submit Request” or nothing will happen.

If the information matches what is in the data base the system will send you a single use URL that will enable you to enter the site and create your password and sends me a message that your activation was successful. Please keep your password somewhere you will be able to find it in the future.

After this you will be able to enter the site anytime you want (as long as you are a CSIC member) using your Username (your name as on the CSIC membership list OR your CSIC Member Number) and your Password (the one you created above).

If the information you submit does not match the information we have, the system sends me a message and I contact you about the discrepancy.

Interesting Times

These are extremely interesting times for immigration consultants! By now most of you should be aware that the government has chosen to replace CSIC with a new regulator. CSIC has started making its moves in response. Since I am not in agreement with the direction that CSIC has determined to take, I have resigned from the CSIC Board. According to the government the new regulator, ICCRC, should take over this summer. For more info on these topics please log in to my site.

IC List Serve

In my reference source survey one of the most useful sources of information was the immigration consultant list serve. The list serve gives you a place to ask questions of other consultants and to answer their questions. If you are interested in a two week free trial please check out IC List Serve under the Options menu.

Observations

A couple of members have offered their observations on CSIC activities in 2009 and CSIC efforts to make it difficult for Society members to get to know one another and discuss and debate CSIC activities, election candidates, potential motions, etc. As these things happen over time we do not see the accumulation of actions that are not necessarily in the best interests of our Society let alone consumers. Login to my site and go to Observations in the Options menu to find these interesting lists.
