Features
Welcome to the expanded site for CSIC members. I had the CSIC Member’s Motions site active prior to the two previous CSIC AGMs but it was soon obvious that we needed a site that covered more than just motions. So I have created a new site that will incorporate the former motions site as well as provide a way for members to reach out and interact with one another. This site is open to all consultant and student members of CSIC but no one else. If you are interested in making use of this site but have not received a user name and password already you must apply for an account. For security reasons, setting up an account may take several days. In accessing this site you are agreeing that you will not allow anyone else to view this site or use your user name and password to enter this site.
Please note that not all features are available at the moment.
Motions – The information and features of the former Member’s Motions site have been transferred here. As a Director of CSIC I am not permitted to facilitate a way for members to show and garner support for their proposed motions but the archives of proposed motions for previous AGMs are still available. I encourage all CSIC members to consider proposing their own motions and also to support the motions of other members.
Board of Director Motions – I decided to give them their own section to make it easier for you to see what the board is proposing for the Society’s next meeting and to make your comments on a discussion board.
Out in the Hall - CSIC has mandated online only meetings for AGMs and Special Meetings. At an in person meeting people have the option of discussing events at the meeting privately among themselves. The CSIC BOD does not provide any way for members to chat among themselves privately during these online meetings. This chat area is intended to be a neutral place for CSIC members to correspond with one another in private on topics of interest to CSIC members during a CSIC AGM or Special Meeting. this chat area is not open to the members of the CSIC BOD. As a CSIC Director I will not be able to provide thisservice during CSIC AGMs. However someo other CSIC member may do so.
Discussion Boards – There will be a number of discussion boards available for you to discuss various topics of interest to CSIC member.
CAPIC - CAPIC represents and works for the benefit of its members who are all CSIC members or students who meet the CSIC definition of Student. I have permission to post the following CAPIC documents and information intended for CAPIC members.
- From the Bottom Up - newsletters with information and announcements about CAPIC, CSIC, CIC, SC, HRSDC, etc. of interest to members.
- CSIC - comments and information about CSIC activities and events for CAPIC members.
- Education - information on educational events by CAPIC or others of interest to CAPIC members.
FAQs – Ask questions and we will provide answers here if people are interested - FAQ@CSICMembersForum.ca
Elections – This area will tell you about the current election when one is called. It will help you prepare nomination papers, garner support, and all the innumerable things you must do to get on the ballot then it will help you reach out to everyone for their support of your campaign. It will review the bylaws and rules so that everyone will know how things are supposed to happen. There will be one or more discussion boards on election topics and candidates. This area will also have information on past elections and candidates.
Mandatory CPD Points – This area will review the current requirements and provide discussion boards on various topics relating to the Mandatory CPD programs.
Voluntary CPD Points - This area will review the current requirements and provide discussion boards on various topics relating to the Voluntary CPD programs.
Bylaws – This area will provide interpretations of the bylaws and discussion boards.
Please let me know of other features and things you would like to see on this site so as to make it more useful to you as a member of CSIC and a CCIC. peter@CSICMembersForum.ca
